Associate pastor of youth & family

Full-time


Cross Timbers Church of Edmond, Oklahoma, is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor whose primary responsibility will be providing leadership to the Youth Ministries of the church.  The successful candidate will be a committed follower of Jesus with a depth of Biblical knowledge and a life that exemplifies a pursuit of Spiritual growth and maturity.  They must be a gifted communicator, especially with Students, with a heart for discipling the next generation to become mature followers of Jesus.  The role could also be explored as a part-time position with adjustments to responsibilities that align with part-time work.


Key Responsibilities


Youth Ministry

  • Provide leadership and oversight for Middle School and High School ministries.
  • Lead and be the primary teacher for our Midweek Youth Program and Youth Sunday School.
  • Build relationship with students and parents, encouraging a culture of discipleship
  • Plan and lead youth events and participate in District camps and conferences
  • Equip and empower volunteer leaders to serve in youth ministry
  • Connect with other youth leaders to continue to grow in ministry effectiveness


Family Ministry

  • Oversee the strong team of kids’ ministry volunteers and oversee curriculum choices
  • Provide continuity between kids’ ministry, youth ministry and the church as a whole
  • Coordinate with the Lead Pastor in youth and kids’ ministry goals and vision
  • Collaborate with other church leaders to integrate Youth and Kids into the larger church
  • Provide resources and direction to Parents and Families as they disciple their kids

Qualifications
  • A life that demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus and a calling to pastoral ministry
  • Experience with leading youth ministries
  • Strong communication and relational skills, particularly with students and volunteers
  • Ability to collaborate with church staff and volunteers to give input toward the church vision
  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry or a related field preferred

worship leader

part-time

Cross Timbers Church is seeking a part-time worship leader to support the continued growth and development of our worship ministry. The successful candidate will lead weekly contemporary services and oversee all aspects of the worship ministry. The applicant should be a gifted musician who can lead vocally, and ideally lead with guitar or another primary instrument.

 

Our growing congregation of nearly 200 members recently relocated to a newly constructed worship space in 2024 with new AVL technology.  We have a solid group of talented musicians who are already invested in the worship ministry and are ready for the next season of leadership.

 

This position offers flexibility regarding scope and time commitment, with an anticipated requirement of approximately 20 hours per week.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the congregation in authentic and engaging worship
  • Direct the worship team on a weekly basis
  • Oversee the technical team managing sound, lighting, ProPresenter, and streaming services
  • Select songs and assign team members each week
  • Mentor and develop emerging musicians for integration into the worship team
  • Exemplify discipleship and personal worship in daily life


Qualifications

  • Proven commitment to their Christian faith
  • Strong understanding of Scripture and the ability to select doctrinally sound songs
  • Working knowledge of sound technology (including sound boards and stage boxes), or willingness to learn
  • Demonstrated musical proficiency and capacity to lead teams of varying sizes
  • Effective communication skills for team coordination
